July 12

Right now, I am laying in a bed in Pretoria at Jane's house.  Jane runs the Distance Program at the college.  Tomorrow, I hope to go with her to a place about 4 hours away where she will give a presentation about what the Distance Program is all about.
Today, I was at the college doing some more editing work.  Now I am working on a study guide that will be used to teach English.  After doing it, I can say that I learned a little bit more myself.  For example, in South Africa, Mr. and Mrs. do not need a period at the end.  As well, I know now what a diphthong is and that with compound words, the most important word is pluralised. (eg mother-in-law becomes mothers-in-law)
Lunch here is made by the ladies in kitchen, so I don't have to worry about packing a lunch in the morning.  That is very nice.  Today, we had a braai which is a type of bbq.  They barbecued chicken, pork and sausage.  It was quite good.  Along with this, they had pap, which is kind of like porridge, but way thicker (your fork stands up in it) and a way different taste.  It wasn't the best and it seemed like it needed some brown sugar or something to sweeten it a bit.  On the previous post, you can see several of the people I work with eating their braai.
On a side note, please remember the college.  Right now, the government is trying to remove Mukyanho's accreditation because they are being very picky about some wording.  This means that if they don't get this fixed, in two months, they will not be able to run anymore.
After work, I got a ride to Pretoria with someone who works at the college.  In Pretoria, I am staying at Jane's house as I mentioned earlier.  Below are some pictures that I took on the drive from Mukhanyo to here.  I was hoping to see some monkeys on the side of the ride, but not this time.  Maybe on the drive back on Monday.

Beautiful red rocks on the way to Pretoria (hard to get the full effect)
